Our founder, Rory Modlinski, found himself recording an album and needed a label, he decided to start his own. "Wapiti" means Elk in Native American. Elk has been near and dear to Rory since his childhood. His family spend years fundraising to bring Elk and their habitat back to Northern Wisconsin. When Rory was looking for a name for the label, Wapiti seemed highly appropriate.
